About:
I made these icons after looking for an icon for PgAdmin and not being able
to find one I liked. I like the logo use on on http://www.postgresql.org/
currently (01/11/06) but it was only avalible in that small size. The
icons/logos I created are modeled after the one from the website. They also are
in svg form so are scalable to anysize needed. Now that I am finished I have
desided to give these icons and logos to the PostgreSQL project with the hope
they will be useful. The set now includes renders in various sizes of png,
windows icons including favicons, the svg files, my original base art work and a
shell script used to render everything. The shell script requires a unix shell,
icoutils and inkscape > 0.42. There are 4 basic styles in the set:

no border > A plain blue background with the logo
shine > A blue candied shell incasing the logo
plain > A plain blue background with logo and a darker blue border
outline > Just the logo in white or grey.

Some files are marked admin they are for PgAdmin and are the same as the others
but with an A on them. In the ones marked thick the Logo outline is Thicker, I
did because some of the icons were harder to see a low resolution, 16x16 for
example. I personaly like the thin set better but a low resolution thick should
be used. A files were created using:

	Inkscape[svg](http://www.inkscape.org/),
	AutoTrace[svg](http://autotrace.sourceforge.net),
	IcoUtils[ico](http://www.nongnu.org/icoutils/) and
	Gimp[bmp and other work](http://www.gimp.org/).

If you need to do work on these I would suggest these programs they are free and
open source (of course). I may be willing to do some work on these at your
request if you have un-met needs regarding the use of the icons or logos please
ask.

Permision is granted to licence these icons/logos in any way the PostgreSQL team
wishes. Do with them as you will modify them, make dirived works, distribute
them and sell them even if you wish as long as they are used for the benifite of
PostgreSql and PgAdmin.

Personal notes:
Thanks to the whole team for all the hard work on PostgreSql and PgAdmin I
resently installed these programs on a server and very impressed. I hope this
project continues to grow. If I may be of any asistance please contact me.
